loves not meant to be
Makoto is notorious for crushing on cute strangers. Meet her most notable love interests, and find out why these loves just didn't work out.

Crane Game Joe
It's her first day as a senshi and already she has fallen for a guy. So, who is crush #1? A guy who has earned the nickname Crane Game Joe for his skill at the arcade. He debuts in episode 25 where we find him at the arcade playing a crane game. Curious about him, Mako-chan follows him around town. Suddenly, Joe is attacked by an angry Zoisite looking for nijizuishou crystals. This is where Makoto discovers that she is Sailorjupiter. Using her powers, she fights off Zoisite and saves Joe. He ungratefully runs off, shouting that that "big girl" isn't his type. He is never heard from again.

Furuhata Motoki
Motoki is the cute blonde who works at the arcade. Makoto is introduced to Motoki at the Crown Game Center in Volume I Act 5: her first public appearance as Sailorjupiter. Manipulated by Nephrite, Motoki acts as if he has deep feelings for Makoto, all the while draining her energy. Nephrite's plot is later revealed, leading to the discovery of Sailorjupiter and the destruction of Beryl's second Shitennou. When Nephrite is eliminated, Motoki returns to his normal self, not seeing Makoto as anything but a friend. In the anime, Makoto tries fiercely to attract his affections. She cleans his apartment, cooks dinner, then finds out that Motoki has a girlfriend named Reika. Poor, Mako...

Tsukikagi no Knight
Tsukikagi no Knight is that mysterious guy who always seems to appear when the senshi are in the most trouble during the R season of the anime. Sailorjupiter is left alone battling a daemon when the other senshi are struck down. When it seems like she can't fight anymore a snow white rose pierces the enemy, giving Sailorjupiter a chance to recover. The Knight offers a few words of encouragement before mysteriously disappearing. It is soon after discovered that Mamoru is Tsukikagi no Knight, so this is another failed crush (which is probably a good thing; could you imagine three girls fighting over the same guy?).

Misha
Misha is a champion figure skater who is manipulated by the Dark Kingdom during one episode of the first season of the anime. Makoto first meets Misha in episode 39. Makoto, Usagi, Rei, Minako, and Ami head off to the ice skating rink where Misha and his partner Janelin are giving lessons. Entranced by her grace, Misha asks Makoto to skate with him. It is later revealed that Misha has been working for the Dark Kingdom, and only found interest in Makoto because he thought that she could be Sailormoon. After being released, Misha returns to his original skating partner, leaving Makoto alone again. Sigh, another love not meant to be...

Tiger Eye
The handsome feline of the Amazon Trio is next at catching Makoto's eye. At a dance in S episode 147, when Ami shies away, Makoto is determined to show her a good time. The two steal the dance floor and groove away. Later Tiger Eye approaches Makoto expressing false feelings of affection. Being the innocent girl that she is, Makoto falls under his spell. He promises her a dance but becomes involved with other girls and leaves Makoto alone. She decides to wait for him to return and sits in the empty hall all night. He never comes back.
