Dark clouds hover over the vacant streets of Juuban district. A light breeze plays with fallen leaves. A girl watches as the grey sky overhead swirls; her arms crossed. "It feels like it will rain," she whispers half to herself, half to the sky. Then, brushing her auburn hair aside, the girl turns and walks away, as crystal raindrops fall from the heavens.

"I'm late!" With a final shrill cry, Usagi darts out the door and makes a mad-dash down the sidewalk. "Great! I'm going to have to serve detention again," she mutters to herself. Not thinking of anything but getting to school on time, the blonde runs out into the middle of the street. Her eyes become wide as she finds herself in the path of a speeding car.

She sees it all. A girl unthinking runs into the street only to be caught in the path of doom. She will surely die if something will not help her. Grabbing her skirt, the brunette dashes over and picks up the fear-frozen blonde; the car only inches from striking her. Breathing hard, the brown-haired girl sets her blonde victim on the ground. "Be more careful next time," she offers as a closing thought before walking away, leaving the blonde alone to wonder.

But this bizarre mishap is only the beginning of their relationship...

The start of another school day at Juuban Junior High School finds an excited Naru chattering on about her cousin's wedding. As a crowd of dreamy-eyed females listen in awe, a tall brunette enters the scene. She is wearing a brown uniform, in contrast to the multitudes of navy blue. The principal looks up in annoyance at the new-comer. She scolds the brunette for wearing a different uniform, but the brown-haired girl calmly replies that no blue uniforms are available in her size. The principal then goes on to remark that perms are against school code. The brunette says smoothly that her hair is naturally wavy.

Umino, who always has the scoop when something new happens, informs the others that this new girl just transfered from another school and is very violent. She is said to have extreme strength. All stay away in fear.

From a safe distance away, Usagi eyes the brunette's lunch. It looks so delicious, and Usagi's stomach is grumbling viciously. Enticed by the food, she does not notice a baseball zipping towards her head. But right on the brink of disaster, Usagi is saved again. The brown-haired girl catches the ball right before it reaches Usagi's face. She then throws the ball back to the players, sending it way past them. Maybe the rumors are right. Maybe she is superhuman.

Another growl of Usagi's stomach gives her hunger away. The brunette offers her a share of her lunch and introduces herself as Kino Makoto. From this, a friendship is formed.

Eager to spend time with her new friend, Usagi invites Makoto to come to the arcade after school. Makoto agrees. There she meets Ami, Rei, and the gorgeous Motoki. After the two drool over his good looks, they leave the arcade. A lonely, grey building stands silently as they pass. It is a bridal shop that many say is haunted. A mannequin on display calls out that it is a ghost.

Several hours later, Motoki is leaving a friend's house when he passes the bridal shop. Hypnotised by a mannequin, he is soon possessed. Motoki, being possessed, finds Makoto by a soda vending machine. He explains false feelings of love for her and tries to seduce her. Perhaps the ghost would have succeeded, but someone else is watching. Tuxedo Kamen hurries to fetch Sailormoon and the other Senshi. A Jovian symbol glows green upon Makoto's forehead, and she is thrown a henshin stick by Luna.

"Jupiter Power, Make Up!" Sailorjupiter is transformed. The mannequin dissappears and its dress falls lifelessly to the ground. Nephrite stands behind them snickering. Twirling around violently, Sailorjupiter strikes with her Flower Hurricane and Supreme Thunder attacks. She succeeds in murdering Nephrite.

The fourth Sailor Soldier has been found. Kino Makoto has found her true purpose: to fight as a Senshi for the future of this planet...
